Now that Samsung’s Galaxy S9 has been unveiled under its marketing tagline, “The Camera. Reimagined,” some might be wondering if the Android brand’s marketing measures up in reality.

DxOMark, a leading industry source for independent image quality measurements and ratings pertaining to smartphones, cameras, and lenses, has provided a ranking of the best smartphone cameras on its website.

The top 10 are featured below. DxOMark provides a detailed write-up on how each score was calculated, as well as a summary of each smartphone camera’s pros and cons on their respective pages, which you can link through from here.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, Google Pixel 2, and the Apple iPhone X dominate the top three spots.

Google’s Pixel 2 was also formerly praised for its pleasing ‘Portrait Mode’ results by popular tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee when he compared it against the iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and the US$8,000 Hasselblad ‘X1D’.
