How necessary is it to migrate my personal portfolio to https in the wake of Google Chrome’s new ‘Not Secure’ notices? : web_design

I have a personal portfolio website that I only use to show potential employers and friends my work – I do not care about SEO, or my page ranking on Google. I know about the HTTPS switch, and got a notification from my hosting provider that it would affect me, but to upgrade will be over $30/mo for a site I only use for display purposes.

How important will it be to upgrade my site? Will potential employers be blocked from seeing my content and unable to see my portfolio? It should also be noted that while I made my site, it was done in wordpress. It looks good, but it is a theme and my backend web design is limited to wordpress. If this is not the correct subreddit to ask, is there another one I should post this to?

Thanks!
