RR Auction recently sold off Steve Jobs’ 1973 employment application for US$174,757—more than triple its initial bidding price of US$50,000.

The form was filled in after Jobs dropped out of Reeds College, where he majored in English Literature and attended classes for roughly six months.

Jobs indicates “Computer” and “Calculator” among his skills inside his typo-filled application, and includes “Electronics” plus digital “Tech or Design Engineer” among his special abilities.

Not along after completing the questionnaire, the Apple co-founder hopped aboard Atari’s team as a technician. Two years later, Apple Computer was born in Jobs’ garage with help from Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

A Mac OS X tech manual with Jobs’ signature from 2001, as well as an autographed newspaper trimming were also auctioned off for US$41,806 and US$26,950 respectively.
